Community Emergency Response Team

The Community Emergency Response Team program helps train people to be more ready to react to an emergency in their area.

CERT training includes emergency readiness, stopping a fire, basic medical help, and light search and rescue ways.

Using the training, these people can help others in their area or workplace while people are waiting for fire fighters, police or medical staff to get there. During emergencies, CERT members can help fire fighters, police or medical staff. They can also give help to people who may need it and organize other helpers at an emergency site. They also can help with non-emergency projects that help better area safety. CERT programs welcome individuals of all abilities.
